Holy, Holy, Holy
A Model Prayer – Part 2
As Jesus was teaching his disciples (us) how to pray, He reminded them (us) that God is a Holy God.
Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:9-13 ESV
Prayer provides all of us an opportunity to worship a holy, perfect, sinless God. In our prayers we need to remember to address our God as a Holy God.
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” (Isaiah 6:1-3 ESV)
We were created to worship God and a Holy God deserves our worship.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness. (Psalm 29:2 ESV)
Take some time today to worship your Heavenly Father.
