Recently I heard the comment, “The sun is always shining”.
If it is a cloudy day or if it is the middle of the night we are not thinking about the sun giving off light. However, just because the clouds are blocking the sun or the part of the earth where we live has rotated away from the sun, it doesn’t mean that the sun has stopped shining.
Light and energy are constantly coming to the Earth from the sun. Every living thing on the Earth depends on sunlight for survival. Without the radiant energy emitted by the sun there would be no life on Earth.
The Son is always shining.
Just because we are going through hard times doesn’t mean that the Son has stopped shining.
As Christians we don’t have to stumble around in darkness. We can live in the light 24/7.
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” (John 8:12 NLT)
God’s light shines 24/7.
… our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. … This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. (1 John 1:3 & 5 NLT)
Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. We have access to God’s love and light 24/7.
… overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39 NLT)
The Son offers abundant life.
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:10 ESV)
Since the light is shining 24/7 we need to live as people of light 24/7!
For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; …. (Ephesians 5:8-11 NLT)
The Son is always shining.
Live as people of light!
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1 ESV)
