What are you telling the next generation?
… we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. ( Psalm 78:4 NLT)
Tell the next generation that God did much more than create the universe and everything in it. Tell the next generation that God is the sustainer and upholder of all of His creation. Talk about His power and His mighty wonders by telling how He holds the universe together.
Tell the next generation that God’s power keeps the planets in their orbits. The universe and everything in it is constantly sustained by the Son’s powerful word.
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, [2] but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. [3] He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. … (Hebrews 1:1-3 ESV)
Tell the next generation that God’s power keeps electrons moving around the nucleus of an atom.
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:16-17 ESV)
Tell the next generation that God has control over all aspects of nature.
And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?” (Matthew 8:23-27 ESV)
Tell the next generation that God reigns.
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” (1 Chronicles 16:31 ESV)
